Well this Roush is an impressive one. It’s the Roush P-51 Mustang. This is the first time Roush has completely torn into the internals of an engine. This is also why it has the most horsepower in the Roush Corral.

They start with the 4.6L Ford Mustang GT and creat a monster. Everything comes out. And in goes all of this:

Forged Aluminum Pistons which lower the compression from 9.8 to 8.6:1, Forged Steel H-beam Rods, Forged Steel Crankshaft. This is a necesity for the 510HP/510lb-ft torque. On top of this are intakes, intercooler, radiator, carbon fiber cold air induction, hi-flow 52lb/hr injectors, unique fuel rail, two 600mm throttly bodies, upgraded fuel delivery system, aluminum flywheel, upgraded clutch, Roush calibrated ECM, and last but not least the Roushcharger supercharger.

WOW!!! That is awesome. Again if you have this car you are VERY lucky. They only produced 151 of thes cars. Good luck getting your hands on this baby. Or you can opt to buy the P-51 Mustang airplane but be prepared to pay a whole lot more.

Roush 428R Mustang

Ok, so the Roush 428R. What’s the major difference with this car? It’s one number highter than the Roush 427R. That’s about it… Just kidding. This model was created to continue the legendary history of Ford’s 428R? Mustang. This engine has alot more dress-up parts than the 427R. This is one of those SPECIAL EDITION models I mentioned earlier. (assuming you looked at the 427R first) Only 200 were scheduled for production.

This comes with 435HP/400lb-ft of torque. Below you will see the extra attention parts added to this awesome vehicle. Additional components that create this power are Intake Manifolds, Intercooler and Radiator, Air Induction System, and a Roush Calibrated ECM.

Roush 427R Convertible
The Roush 427R is a great machine. I was lucky enough at the Milan, MI NMRA event to get some photos of some great Mustangs. This car was one of them. In person these cars look so much better than just a picture on a website. This car even won some awards.. sorry I dont remember which now.

Horsepower wise it’s close to the Roush Stage 3 at 435HP. 400 lb-ft of torque. If you are wondering why it’s called the Roush 427R, it’s because of the engine. It has a 427 engine under the hood.This vehicle comes with a few less things than the Stage 3 but all the speed and performance are still here. It has the Roushcharger system. Specialy calibrated ECM. And also a different exhaust.

Ok, so you’re now wondering. Whats the price? well I’ll get to that in a minute. The great news is that the price for this package is $4,000 less than the stage 3 since it has fewer styling components. This car was built for speed. And in my opinion, fancy styling isn’t needed for more speed. (but it sure looks nice. ;)

Roush Stage 3

Ok, now the excitement begins. The Roush Stage 3 Mustang gives you more of what you’ve been asking for. This car not only looks fast but has the stuff to back it. This is the first model in the Roush corral that I consider a true muscle car. Power, looks, sound, speed, handling… that’s what you look for in a muscle car. This vehicle includes more horsepower, better suspension and braking, and slight changes to the body from the first 3 vehicles in the line-up. The Roush Stage 3 comes with 430 HP 400 lb/ft of torque. Now that’s something to get excited about. This car reaches that with the help of the amazing ROUSHcharger. This unit carries a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. That is awesome.

Other components helping out to reach the 430 HP are intake manifolds, intercooler and radiator, air induction system and a Roush calibrated ECM.

Stage 2

Now I know this car is still sitting at the 300HP range. But the Roush Stage 2 Mustang
has a great suspension ugrade package that is standard. This suspension includes big anti-roll bars, higher-rate springs and specially valved shocks. With KD tires, this Car will generate over 1.0 g in a lateral acceleration. You can also opt to purchase the Roush Sport Seating System for extra comfort.

I myself would like to see a little more power in this vehicle. Mainly because this is the third vehicle in the Roush line-up with the 300HP rating. But you can still put some aftermarket bolt-ons and make this car scream.
