2010 Roush Unveiling

Today was a great day. I met Jack Roush, got to see some great Mustangs. And experienced a first in my life.
What is it you ask?

Well, it was the 2010 Roush Mustang unveiling. I wanted to write just a little bit to let you know the info is coming. The unveiling was just done today March 18th, 2009 so I need to get everything together and post it. I won’t be the first site I’m sure, to post the footage, but I’ll be one of the first.

So check back in a couple days for photos, information, and see what was one of my best experiences in my life.

I would first like to thank everyone who has made this site’s popularity grow over the last 1 1/2 years. I have tremendously enjoyed building this site and had much bigger plans for it. Times have been really hard for me this year(2009). I have been out of work all year and it is time for me to make some budget cuts. Unfortunately, this site is one of the cuts. So ownership will be changing hands and the plans are to continue on with the style I have created on the site.

The new owner has asked me to stay on as a consultant and correspondant. So possibly in the future you will still get to read some of my writings and enjoy some of the great experiences in the Ford Mustang world. I wish you all well and hope you continue to enjoy the site’s growth as I expect it will continue to bring you great things regarding the beloved Mustang.

The year, 1942. The world is at war. The economy is horrible. Peoples dreams are falling apart… just kidding. This isn’t about the war. But this story does start in 1942.

April 19, 1942 to be exact. Why is this important? This is the day that JACK ROUSH was born. And in a way, the birth of the Roush Mustang.Jack Roush is Founder, CEO, and a co-owner in the automotive industry. But this page is about his cars, not him. You can read about him on another page where I willgo more into detail of his life.

There are many companies combined that create Roush Enterprises. Below you can see the time-line of important events of this fascinating company.

THE BIRTH AND GROWTH OF ROUSH ENTERPRISES and the ROUSH MUSTANG.

April 19,1942 – Jack Roush is born

May 1969 – Jack Roush started purchasing his own equipment for desinging and building his own parts.

1970 – Partnered with Wayne Gapp. This was the beginning of his racing career in IHRA, AHRA, and NHRA drag racing. He also usually offered his parts for sale.

1976I WAS BORN!!! What a great year. I remember… oh, sorry. I did it again didn’t I? Really, here’s what happened in 1976, read on.

1976 – Jack Roush ended his partnership with Wayne Gapp. Thus brought us Roush Performance Engineering. He primarily built engines now for other race teams through the early 80’s.

1984 – Roush becomes a LEGEND. After 14 years of racing championships and 8 years of Roush Performance Engineering. His name is a household item, so to speak.

1995 – The creation of Roush Performance Products. This company was created to offer great aftermarket performance parts, vehicles and engines to the public.

Current – Roush Enterprises is huge!!!

Roush Enterprises is the parent company of three other Roush Brands.

1. Roush Fenway Racing – with teams in NASCAR, BUSCH, and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

2. Roush Industries – OEM Engineering and Manufacturing.

3. Roush Performance Products -

Aftermarket performance parts

and engines.

So as you can see, there’s alot of history with the Roush brand. There are nearly 2000 people employed by Roush Enterprises. ( What a dream job. I would love to work at the shop they build the cars. ) But, if a Roush Mustang isn’t what you are looking for. Then check out the Roush F-150 or Roush Focus. Whatever your itch for speed is, Roush can supply it.

Here a few more facts I would like to mention, then on to the exciting stuff. The Roush Mustang Corral.

- Roush was the first specialy vehicle company to combine race proven technology with automotive engineering.

- Jack Roush personally approves every aspect of his product before production and product release.

- Roush racing has the most wins in FORD RACING team history.

- Roush is comitted to continually provide outstanding products for us.

- I had a chocolate lab ( yes a dog ) that I named Roush after Jack Roush. Ok I know this isn’t a fact of Roush Industries. But it has relevance. Doesn’t it? And I tell you what. People would look at the name, and say “roosh”. I thought to myself, don’t you know who ROUSH is? And then say, no, it’s ROUSH. You know after Jack Roush? Still, to no avail. Obviously these weren’t car people.

Roush RTC

This is the new ROUSH RTC. It was unveiled at the National Mustang Show. ROUSH? regional manager, Rick Hill pulled the cover off on Saturday, June 21 2009.

The RTC is a two-tone coupe, black on the top with the Ford base red on the bottom. Only 200 units are being built and should start showing up in ROUSH? dealers soon.

There was a silent auction for a ROUSH? diecast Mustang with all proceeds being donated to the Red Cross Flood Relief fund. Mark Badgley was the winner of the model.

But now more about this newly added Roush RTC to the Roush corral. The base model I beilieve will come with the 300HP Mustang GT engine. But don’t worry, you have the option to ugrade and add the chrome Roushcharger and get 430HP/400lb-ft of torque. Now we’re talkin!!

This is mostly a looks package. You get interior and exterior enhancements. But one cool thing I like about the standard options are the 20″ wheels and perf. tire package. they look really sharp.

One thing that would have been nice to see though? Different paint colors. There are already other Specialy Stangs with this paint scheme. There’s a Chip Foose model and Boyd Coddington (R.I.P.) model. But in any case it’s an awesome addition to the Roush line-up.

Roush Speedster

This is the VERY limited edition Roush Speedster. Only 100 were made of these beautiful, fast, fun machines. Unfortunately I am not one of the lucky owners. But if you are, then congratulations. This car is perfect for fun in the sun driving and you better believe I’d have the top down every chance I got.(if it were mine) The base Speedster comes with the 300 HP stock engine. But you can add the ROUSHcharger as an option and bring this baby up to 435 HP. If you are getting to be my age, sometimes a manual trans is exhausting. Luckily this car has an optional 5-speed automatic trans as an option. So no matter where you live… the country, the beach, or the city. This Roush Mustang is ready to drive anywhere.(ok, well not offroading.. but you understand)

You can have any color you choose as long as it’s white w/ a black top. Check out the Core and optional components available.
